Church Life | Youth

We think young people have loads of potential and stacks to contribute to church, both now and in the future. We seek to make as many opportunities as possible for young people to get involved.

Currently we run Youth Life Groups for specific age groups. This provides a mid-week chance to touch base, take time out and focus on discipleship for the young people that want to come.

We also take our young people to Newday, a major youth event for 12-19 year olds. Check out the Newday website: www.newday.xtn.org Time away from their usual environment is a great opportunity to deepen relationships and have fun doing things not always possible at home!

My Story...

Quotes

Churchcentral is a bustling community with people of all ages. I am 17 and have been a part of Churchcentral since I was a young child. Throughout my childhood and adolescence I have always felt welcome in the church and it has always catered for my needs. When I was 13 the church was still in its infancy, and they kindly arranged for me and some others to attend Newday, a Christian youth gathering, hosted by Newfrontiers. Since then I have regularly attended this annual event and have made many friends nationwide. Being located opposite Birmingham University, there are a large number of students in the church. The youth have the opportunity to socialise and discuss issues with students who are always open and willing to provide assistance. This happens especially during the weekly Alpha course meetings which the church organises. I have made many student friendships through this and also from serving the church in a variety of different ways. From singing at ‘Time for Tea’ ( an outreach programme for the elderly ) to ‘setting down’ after Sunday meeting there are always opportunities to help, serve and get involved.
