How To Deal With Discrimination In The Church
Acts 6:1-7
Everything is going well for the early church. The word is spreading. The number of disciples is increasing. But here an internal problem arises – Discrimination. It threatens the unity & justice of God’s fledgling New Community. How the church responded however is a model for us as to how we should respond to discrimination today, however subtle it may be.

Finding Your Place In The Body Of Christ
1 Corinthians 12:4-14
Jesus gave up his body willingly because he knew God had a plan, to give him a new body that would continue his ministry on earth. That’s us, the church of Jesus; the Body of Christ. It’s important that we find our place in the body through getting to know the Holy Spirit, discovering our gifts, and playing our part.

The Prayer of Prayers
Matthew 6:9-13
As we come to ‘the prayer that Jesus himself taught us’, we must not be over familiar or sentimental about it. This is no optional life hack to boost our prayer life. This is a model of how we can have a relationship with God, such as Jesus has. But it also challenges us to accept God’s terms. This is a prayer treasure trove, and if we let it shape and mould our lives we will be transformed, and so will the world around us.

God's Vineyard
Luke 20:9-19
It’s official. The Chief Priests and teachers of the law want to kill Jesus. He calls them out through this parable and announces that they will be deposed, He will be vindicated, and the ‘Vineyard’ of God’s kingdom blessings will be given to others. As those who are now tenants in God’s vineyard, there’s much we can learn here about how we can produce good fruit for the kingdom in our lives.

Shameless persistence
Luke 11:5-13
In the Lord’s Prayer Jesus teaches us what to pray, here he teaches us how to pray. What two words would you use to describe your prayer life? Jesus want us to pray with shameless persistence, confident in our heavenly Father’s desire to hear, answer and give us what we need. If we can learn to persist in prayer, it will do us much good, and change the world.

Mary and Martha
Luke 10:38-42
Which do you relate to more out of the two sisters, Martha or Mary? Is this about personality types, or something more significant? From Jesus’ response it’s clear that Martha prioritised her culture, whereas Mary prioritised her hunger. We have a similar choice to make in our priorities. If we hunger after God, whatever the cost, and make him our ‘portion’, it will not be taken away from us!
